- Summit to Summit Run/Walk is May 11
Mark your calendars! Summit Christian College is gearing up for its 11th annual Summit to Summit Run/Walk to be held Saturday, May 11 in Gering. This challenging and beautiful 7.2-mile run/walk from the Summit campus in Gering to the summit of Scotts Bluff National Monument and back has become a favorite early spring community outing. As in years past, the 7.2-miles timed run/walk event is open to all ages, but this year a new Team division is being added. Organizers hope this fun new division will encourage people to enter as four-person teams and enjoy the event with their children and family members, co-workers and corporate members, or church groups. Team awards will include Fastest Team, Oldest Team, Youngest Team, Furthest Team, and Fastest Family Team. The Summit Christian College Alumni Association’s benefit pancake breakfast and kids’ bounce houses will also be held during the event. Summit to Summit organizers are also seeking new individual and corporate sponsors. Sponsorship helps the college offset the expense of the event while promoting local businesses in print and radio advertising. Several tiers of sponsorship are available from Basic at $150 up to the $10,000 Premier level for major corporations. Each sponsorship level receives free run/walk registrations to share with their employees. Summit to Summit is an excellent option for businesses with employee health incentive programs. For more information about Summit to Summit, to enter, or to become an event sponsor go to www.summittosummit.org or call Summit Christian College at (308) 632-6933.
