Each spring Summit Christian College recognizes its outstanding students, student leaders, mentors and mentees, and scholarship winners during its Spring Awards Banquet. In the past, this event has featured a formal dinner prepared and hosted by our student leaders followed by an awards presentation in the SCC Chapel. Due to the current restrictions of COVID-19, the college will be announcing its award winners throughout this week.
Today, we are pleased to announce that Aaron Gorsuch has been honored with the 2020 Barnabas Award.
The name Barnabas means Son of Encouragement (Acts 4:36).
The Barnabas Award is given to an SCC student that excels in encouraging others. The faculty believes this award is a great honor. Because of this, there have been years that it has not been awarded.
Aaron is a nontraditional freshman this year. He has a caring heart and considers the needs of others. He continues to encourage others in their walk with Christ (as well as academic responsibilities) while pressing through trials of his own.
