Students to see missions on a global scale

During our weekly Chapel service on November 14, prayers of praise, protection, and provision were lifted up for this week's International Conference on Missions (ICOM) held in Cincinnati, OH. SCC professor Dave Robinson conducted the campus-wide prayer chapel, guiding prayer for the ICOM main session speakers, workshops and workshop leaders, exhibits and exhibitors, missionaries and their families, church leaders, volunteers, and the thousands, including our Summit students, who will be attending the five-day event.

We have thirteen students and two adult chaperones attending ICOM this year. This will be the first time for several of our students to attend the event, an extensive international conference serving as a connection point for global missions. Students will be immersed into global cultures as they attend workshops, engage with exhibitors at the trade show, meet missionaries and hear their stories and experiences, and be inspired by speakers from the global stage.

In the past, Summit students have come away from ICOM inspired to serve on mission fields from Russia to Africa. Visit ICOM's Current Missions page to learn more about the many areas of global missions our students will be introduced to.

Continue to pray for our students throughout the remaining week, for their hearts to be opened to new possibilities and opportunities to serve the Kingdom, and also for their safe travels back to Nebraska with ignited spirits!
